The Show Choir Rating System is an advocate for the unification of show choir competitions. In order to do this we have developed the Charles-Douglas Scoring System for show choir competitions. This system has gone through rigorous tests and much critique from many of the nations top show choir directors, choreographers, and judges.
Our goal is to provide a standardized scoring system for adjudicated show choir events throughout the Midwest and across the country. Having the same score sheet at every competition allows choirs and directors to know what to expect from competition to competition. Our specifically described categories keep tight quarters on bias and misinterpretation so that each performance is adjudicated with accuracy. We also use a system that turns raw scores into rankings, which eliminates the chances of one judge skewing the results. We want show choir to be as educational as it possibly can be, we hope to do this by setting a national standard. Along with the checks and balances of the sheet, an experienced member of our staff will be there to assist you the day of the competition to insure accuracy.
The highest point scorer in all 2010 events that use our score sheet will receive the Charles-Douglas "High Point" Award!
